Did you know, three of Elvis’ early hits — “All Shook Up,” “Don’t Be Cruel” and “Return to Sender” — were written by Otis Blackwell, who also wrote the Jerry Lee Lewis classics “Great Balls of Fire” and “Breathless.” Elvis even sang them exactly the same. The only difference is, Elvis could reach a national audience because of his privilege.
